Yes...Some car makers have ports in the back of their factory radios that allow for "upgrades" such as Satellite radios or other audio formats. There are many aftermarket manufacturers that make adapters that work with the radios Aux inputs. NOT ALL radio have this ability. 6. What is an FM Modulator ?, I have heard good and bad about it ! An Fm Modulator is a device that broadcasts a signal to your radio via your cars antenna. It is not the greatest way to transmit a signal to your cars radio. In some cars it works well, in others it is terrible. The distance that most Satellite radios can broadcast is short and the quality is suspect. It is best to use a DIRECT CONNECT FM MODULATOR , this device intercepts your cars radio antenna at the radio. When it is turned on it interrupts the cars antenna and sends a signal directly into the radio bypassing the need to broadcast over the air to the radio. 7. What are Remote Starters and what is all the fuss about? Remote starters are a convenient way to start your car from a distance without leaving your keys in the car. You can leave your heater on in the winter and your air conditioner on in the summer. A remote starter is installed on the wires leading form the key switch on your steering column. The electronic brain of the equipment acts like a key would in your ignition switch. IT makes the car think a key is present. The Electronic brain turns on the same wires the key would use. A properly installed remote start WILL NOT HARM YOUR CAR !! The reason most dealership do not like aftermarket installations is not totally due to poor installations. There are basic reasons: 1. Their Technicians are MECHANICS, not Electronics experts. If they cannot just plug it in then it takes too much time, and time is money to the dealership. 2.
